Testing, validating, and demonstrating advanced drone applications
Our Agri Drone Operations focus on supporting technology developers and researchers. We offer advanced test facilities and expertise to validate autonomous systems and applications such as seeding, fertilizing, and crop protection in realistic field conditions.
Validation of Seeding and Fertilizing
Drones offer new possibilities for sowing cover crops or applying fertilizers on hard-to-reach or specific plots. We help you to objectively assess the performance of your prototype.
Our validations include:
Spread pattern analysis: Detailed measurement of the dispersion.
Dosage: Verification of the applied quantity per hectare.
Distribution: Analysis of the uniformity and efficiency of the application.
Validation of Spraying Technology
The use of drones for crop protection requires reliable systems that can apply agents in a targeted manner to specific zones. We conduct tests to guarantee the impact and safety of your spraying drone.
We focus on:
Spray pattern: Analysis of the coverage on the crop.
Drift reduction: Measuring the extent to which the agent stays within the target zone.
Efficiency: Validation of the operation at the zone level (instead of full-field).
Autonomous Systems (Drone-in-a-Box)
A Drone-in-a-Box (DIAB) system is designed to perform tasks completely independently, such as mapping plots or visual inspections. At the ILVO site, we have the infrastructure to test these systems safely and for extended periods.
Testing capabilities:
Autonomous missions: Execution of mapping and inspection flights without pilot intervention.
Cycle testing: Validating automatic take-off, landing, and charging.
Data quality: Evaluation of the data collected during autonomous flights.
